It all started with a simple but deep desire: to live fully, discover differently, and share intensely.
We are Elisa and Mauricio, the faces behind Expédition Maya, a travel agency in El Salvador born from a passion for the region and a shared love for its people, cultures, and off-the-beaten-path journeys.
Mauricio, originally from El Salvador, left Europe after seven years spent between France and Germany to return to where his heart beats: the volcanic and vibrant lands of Central America. His dream? To offer a different way to discover his country and its neighbors — Guatemala, Honduras, Belize, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica — to those seeking tailor-made trips in El Salvador and the region.
Elisa, a French woman passionate about wide-open spaces and living cultures, fell in love with El Salvador on her very first trip in 2018. There, she found much more than a simple change of scenery: a new home, a warm community, and a calling.
